London Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 62,500 seats.
Not sure I understand how the west stand will be configured to be both closer to the pitch and reduce the gap between the upper and lower stands. Anyone can explain this?

"The Club can confirm that:

London Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 62,500 seats.*
The West Stand Lower Tier will be reconfigured to further develop a more traditional football stadium layout, bringing the upper and lower tiers closer together and more fans nearer to the action.
Affordable family football remains at the heart of everything we do, and the Club has ensured that our hugely popular £99 junior Season Ticket will continue in 2022/23.
A new entry level adult Season Ticket is being introduced for £299 – the cheapest adult Season Ticket in London in the Premier League.
The introduction of a new Under 18s Season Ticket band will replace the existing Under 16s ticket, meaning that young supporters can benefit from lower-priced Season Tickets for longer, as part of our commitment to affordable top-flight football for young people and families.
We are introducing a new ‘1966 West’ band, replicating the hugely popular 1966 seats in the Billy Bonds Stand.
After two seasons of price freezes across the board, there will be a small uplift on some of our Season Ticket prices for 2022/23, with a cost per game increase from just 79p in the lowest General Admissions band to just over £5 in the highest General Admissions band.
Our ongoing commitment to deliver enhancements and improvements in Club London will see an improved matchday experience for our loyal and valued members, with a small price increase where applicable.
The Season Ticket renewal window will open on Friday 8 April for for all supporters - General Admission Season Ticket Holders and Club London Members
Supporters in the reconfigured West Stand Lower Tier, along with Club London Members, have been contacted and will be given priority when renewals open on Friday, at which time they will receive tailored communications detailing what these exciting changes mean for them.
Supporters on the Season Ticket Priority List who are in line to receive a Season Ticket for 2022/23 will have the option to pay a £50 deposit to secure their seat for next year from Monday 11 April, replicating the hugely successful process undertaken ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. "

Doesn’t actually state they are bringing it closer to the pitch says they will bring “more fans closer to the action” and having a new “1966 West” band so I am guessing it will be something like the East stand with extra seats dropped in been upper and lower. Which will be an improvement.

Times like this I miss Gavvy. How long before the “R” word is mentioned I wonder?

Having said that, the East stand bottom Row is much less curved than the current West so maybe that can be replicated.

Click here to purchase your 22/23 season ticket, to watch a team devoid of Rice and Bowen having been sold for record sums.

Dont worry though as spectacular waste of money foreigners aged 30 and over will replace them

If they're not bringing it closer to the pitch, how the fuck can they justify charging any kids in those front seats an extra £1k a year just for padding?

"what these exciting changes mean for them"

Nobody talks like this in the real world

It's always a constant sell or constant big up

My band 5 ST has gone up from £320 to £335.
Still cheap as chips.

Doesn't look like massive increases elsewhere except for the 1966 lot which have gone up either £60 or £300 but were expensive as it is.

This will be interesting:

If they manage it then great.

Next they need to look at the gaps between the stands behind the goals.

Re: London Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 62,500 seats.
Good news. The straightening off of the lower tiers behind the goals has definitely helped to improve the atmosphere, so hopefully this will make it even better.

I haven't been contacted by the club though...as usual!

Re: London Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 62,500 seats.
I did the stadium tour at Christmas and asked about the shit gaps between the tiers. The guide said they were looking at reducing them and also bringing in safe standing in one section of the West Stand. Also said they were potentially going to rename it the Mark Noble Stand.

Re: London Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 62,500 seats.
Well, Well, well...the lying cunts are at it again!

So the reconfiguration means the stand isn't being squared off and actually means the stand will be FURTHER AWAY from the pitch!!

My 'like for like' seats will further to the right and further back.

All being done increase the number of corporate seats and at the expense of us loyal fans.

Absolute cunts.

Hardly surprising with them cunts, doing it on the cheap again. Sooner that place gets demolished the better.

Re: London Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 62,500 seats.
Appears to be closer on the revised seating plan. The wording said bringing more supporters closer to the pitch, not that they were levelling it off, although it’s a lot more level than it was.

Re: London Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 62,500 seats.
Huffers - can only assume you are mistaking the existing configuration with the new one

The new one is further from the pitch and not one fucking seat is closer!!

Stepney.Ammer 12:07 Sat Apr 9
Re: London Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 62,500 seats.
Sorry, a dozen or so either side of the dugout are closer!

By more leveled off you mean that those at the ends are now more in line with those in the middle.

You don't happen to have you seat near the dugout do you???

Scroll to the bottom

On the current seating plan, the gap between the East & West to the pitch is similar. On the new plan, the West is closer.

If you look at the seat viewer plan which shows the overlap of the two configurations you will see what I mean.

Re: London Stadium’s capacity is set to increase to 62,500 seats.
Just got an email saying they are closing the whole of block 217 (right of away fans if looking up from pitch) for persistent standing.

How are they going to teach 62,500 with a whole block closed off?
